Trichosurus cunninghami

Mountain Brushtail Possum, Southern Bobuck

Recently split from the Short-eared Brushtail, Trichosurus caninus found in NE NSW and SE Qld.  Found at higher elevations in the region in cool, wet eucalypt forest. Larger than a Common Brushtail, darker furred, bushier tailed with a blunter muzzle and ears not obviously longer than wide.
