User's notes

Heard the begging of what sounded like a young fledgling, and followed it to not far from our bird Bath. The female adult came and fed the female fledgling and then went to the apple tree and consumed a couple of apples. She then flew to the fledgling and looked to be checking on her then flew off into the neighbours property. I tried to follow her but had no luck. Another Gang Gang couple then arrived and flew into tree next to the fledgling and after a couple of minutes flew off in a different direction. I have now seen the female fledgling and adult female together over a period of days with no sign of the male or other fledglings. The female fills up with apples and then flies off in the same direction. I am guessing that maybe there are other fledglings nearby with the male but can't find them. I am sure that this is a different couple than the ones I reported to be nesting on 11.12.24 as the female is heading in the opposite direction.

Thanks Aussie gall - agree with your guesses about what may be happening - It is also possible that chicks from the same nest can be days apart in their fledging so there mau be a chick in a hollow nearby - say within 100m
