Thanks Aussiegall - it is possible that the Gang-gangs moved into the hollow after Galahs had used it and the Galah pair were just back doing a "house" inspection - if this was teh case fledging may be a little later than usual

One of the bigger species of Gahnia - could be G. clarkei, G. sieberiana or another species, depending on the location and habitat (always useful to specify these for sedges and rushes!)

Thanks Aussie gall - agree with your guesses about what may be happening - It is also possible that chicks from the same nest can be days apart in their fledging so there mau be a chick in a hollow nearby - say within 100m
