This is a Black-winged Stilt, Himantopus himantopus, and doesn't appear to be in the list of species. It's widely distributed and its presence here is not at all unlikely.

Agree. This is a common bird in the areas wetlands and should be on the lists. For some reason I cannot confirm its identity.

There is some confusion about this bird as it is undergoing a name change in some quarters. The black winged stilt species exists outside of Australia and the Australian bird is considered by some as a different species and should be called White headed Stilt Homantopus leucocephalus. Perhaps this bird needs to be listed under both names with an appropriate note.
