Michael B asked me to comment. Sorry for the delay. (My settings to forward CNM messages to my email in box had gone awry and it took me a long time to notice.) R rattus is ruled out by the pointed snout, thin furry tail (no scales visible) and dark upper surface of the foot. This is almost certainly Antechinus mimetes. (It is not A flavipes because it is completely the wrong colour and does not have a grey tail with a dark tip, and it s not A agilis or A stuartii because its tail is dark, not pale grey.)
