8May 2024: The abundance range refers to masses of ferns. I have no idea how many plants were in each mass. 15May2024: Added image 4 to show the underside of a frond. Thanks to GlossyGal, JW, Span102, and Wonga for returning to this FT for another birding survey and for me to have the opportunity to photograph this fern again.

Looks correct, but please always photograph the underside of the frond, especially if fertile.
