I think this is a spider wasp (Fabriogenia sp (genus)) but it isn't an option for SHNM. It spent several minutes with the spider and once it had a firm grip on the spider's abdomen, it quickly dragged its prey across the patio and up a wall! I have seen this species of wasp a few times around the yard.
