Apologies. I removed the original suggestion accidentally. In confirming the identity I assumed the face markings had been seen as there are other possibilities with the same appearance from above.

Hi @michael.batley . Thanks for your comment. I took these photos a few years ago when I first began seeing native bees in the garden. At that time, I wasn't aware of the various species with similar appearances. I will look up the original photos and see if there are any with facial markings.

Sorry, @michael.batley, I have no photos of the facial markings. The grevillea was very low growing, so I doubt I had a good view of the face. I've added one more photo - no face but a bit more detail of an antenna. Do the images have enough info to ID genus?

Unfortunately not. It could be Hylaeus, Amphylaeus or even Meroglossa.
