This doesn't look like a Caustis sp. - could be a restiad but I can't see the leaf sheaths to check whether they are closed (as in sedges) or split to the base (as in restiads). And the locality would help to narrow the possible taxa

This appears to have the broad, flat leaves of J. planifolius (and the very dark tepals).

Trevor Preston . Okay . Dianella genus – a species of – it is then. I'll verify this sighting at the genus rank – which is fine if you're fine.

You well may sight this population of plants again and photograph or note the whole plants' diagnostic features,
then we can update the identification with that new sighting .
