The Wingecarribee Rivercare Group - Burradoo meet once a month to weed and plant native species along the banks of the river. @ibaird, appreciate you pointing us in the direction of a caddisfly! @GlossyGal, I've compared your images with ones of Anisocentropus sp on iNat and think your sighting could be Anisocentropus bicoloratus. However, that would be a new species for NM and I don't have enough info to create a new species listing. Could a Caddisfly expert please have a look at this sighting?
