I appreciate this discussion. When trying to find an ID, I had trouble recognising the differences between the wasp mimic and the wasp! Thank you.

That is the wasp that Lasioglossum peraustrale mimics. The difference is that the bee cannot fold its wing as the wasp does, nor is the second segment of the abdomen much larger than other segments as in the wasp.
