Palpita horakae has less strong 'dips' in the sub terminal lines in the fore and hindwings. It has much paler colour along the costa.

This moth is very close to M. sphenotis, but differs from BOLD and iNat examples. It lacks a pale line from the forewing base to the white bar across the wing. Also the sub terminal band is thicker.
