OK, you have convinced me, @donhe! I will accept the mission to find that case again! It's just been confirmed that I will be meeting some friends in that area again in a few days.

You will perhaps have noted that for example: on iNaturalist, there have been 626 Observations and photos of various Hemibela species, of which only one is of a larval case like this, and none have ever been made of the caterpillar.

Hi @donhe. Unfortunately, no. I spotted this case while on an outing and took the photo in passing. The caterpillar wasn't visible, and this is the best image I have. There's a possibility I'll be in the vicinity in a few days but the chance of finding the case again is slim.

@ibaird looks pretty close! Especially 4416032 which has the black smudge around its eye. It's wings are sitting a bit flatter, but otherwise it's a pretty good match.
