These are the weeds that present a significant biosecurity threat within the Southern Highlands. If you think you see one of these species take a photo and upload it to the SHNM. The local control authority can then confirm the species, verify the sighting and take action to control a potential outbreak. We all have a role to play to reduce the risk weeds pose to our high value environmental, agricultural and social/cultural assets under the Biosecurity Act (2015).
This list includes state and regional priority weeds, based on the South East Regional Strategic Weed Management Plan 2017-2022. Some of these high risk weeds are not present or may have a limited distribution and abundance in Wingecarribee or Wollondilly shires, however they pose a significant biosecurity risk and we all need to work together to reduce this risk. The Local Weed Management Plan (the plan) for Wingecarribee Shire is currently in development and may result in additional species being added. The plan will guide weed control actions and resourcing into the future.
No species currently belong to this list.
