Moths of Victoria (Part 9) supporting disc shows and undwing pattern for a H. punctigera female which looks similar, but shows one smaller black dot near the costa on the underside of the forewing, not two as in this specimen. the underwing pattern visible here matches that for Sighting No. 4358977, so on that basis I'm suggesting H. armigera.

The underside of H. armigera has the same pale area in the dark hindwing margin as on the upperside. So I think this is H. punctigera as it has no pale area in the hindwing underside margin. I think the forewing underside dots are variable.

H. armigera has a pale mark in the dark marginal band under the hindwing just as it does on the upper surface of the hindwing.
H. punctigera does not have this pale mark on top or underneath.
This specimen is H. punctigera.
