User's notes

It was hiding near its home stream close to the summit of mt Gingera. It didn't feel like posing for a photo so this is best I could get, is possible to identify on back markings alone?

This is Eulamprus tympanum. A good record. E. heatwolei does not occur at that high elevation. Gets up to about 1200 m along the Brindabella Range. Considerable care is required to separate these two species.

Cool, thanks for the ID and explanation, the marshland up around Gingera has been badly burned so I was pleasantly surprised to come across this one.
