Filled up my drink bottle to see this little one using it as his personal swimming pool! Originally had some water in it and it was closed so not sure how it got in (maybe it was in the main bottle which I poured water from?) and whether it's a species which belongs in the water either. But it was swimming quite nicely with control either way.
Ooh - I agree. I wonder what species though. I couldn't find much on the internet and the patterns on this one doesn't seem to perfectly fit with the images of other seed bug sightings on CNM...
It is the same as Bowerbird #72393, identified as Rhyparochromidae wit the comment that it 'has the general look of tribe Myodochini (Rhyparochrominae), eg [genus] Remaudiereana'.
