A Magpie....but should the bird moderators discuss whether we list magpies under the sub-species. It is a consideration in the SH as two sub-species distributions are adjacent in the SH and marked hybridisation occurs. This specimen may be a hybrid as it has white feathers in its "trousers". Ebird offers Black-backed and White-backed as options, but BirdData does not.
Not sure if Nature Map is religiously following BirdData or if we have the flexibility to add races/sub-species.

Hi all, if you wish to record magpie subspecies, then i am happy to create 3 new categories (Black-backed, White-backed and hybrid/intermediate). For the sightings which we cannot determine subspecies, they can just be confirmed as magpie (no subspecies).
